Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM) takes your privacy on the Internet as extremely important. This privacy statement describes IMAM's policy with regards to the gathering and sharing of visitors' information through the IMAM website and all its subdomains within the "imamalaysia.org" domain name. By visiting any IMAM website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information IMAM collects
Normal website usage
Visitors generally can browse the IMAM site without sharing any personal information or revealing details or who you are. IMAM gathers information from general browsing from standard server logs. Information such as your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating system, and information such as the files you downloaded, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits.
Collection of personally identifiable information
If you apply for IMAM membership, you are eligible to receive IMAM newsletter, join a discussion group with IMAM Executive Committee (Exco) member or join an electronic mailing list and you will be asked to provide basic personal information such as your name, speciality in medical field and e-mail address. This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission, and is kept in various IMAM databases.
If you are donating or purchasing merchandise on the web, you may be asked to provide your online banking and credit card details.
IMAM usage of the information

Data collected during the general browsing of the domain "imamalaysia.org" is used to improve the site's user experience and to track trends and usage of the site. Site usage is not linked with any personal information, should you however, have registered and subscribed to the IMAM membership, the information that is collected will be on your email address which will be identifiable to you.
Personally identifiable information
IMAM may use the personal information you provide as IMAM member to:
- Contact you – to keep you updated on IMAM news and latest updates by sending you newsletters, documents, publications etc and respond to feedback or a query
- The processing of membership application, internship and job application

Non-disclosure of personal information to IMAM
It is optional to provide personal information on the IMAM web site. You can still browse and use the site without sharing your personal information, however certain actions such as online donations, purchasing items, application for IMAM membership, or applying for a position in the organization will not be possible.
Changing personal information and Opt out requests

IMAM does not engage in the selling and sharing of any personal data information on any IMAM platform – website and social media platforms. However, in order to support you and the membership better, IMAM shares some user information within our organisation in order to respond to your needs.

IMAM however will not be responsible for the security of information.
